PhD students win awards

PhD student, Sharahm Sattar, supervised by Dr. Songnian Li, won the third place in the 2017 AOLS Graduate Student Poster Session with a cash price of $1,000 during the National Surveyors’ Conference 2017 held in Ottawa on March 1-3, 2017. His project title is “Pothole Detection using GPS And Sensor Data from Smart Phones”. In the same competition, PhD student, Salem Morsy, co-supervised by Ahmed El-Rabbany and Ahmed Shaker, won the fifth place with a cash price of $500 for his project on “Mapping Highway 401 using Mobile Laser Scanning System”.
